Although I received numerous awards in my collegiate running career, I am more proud of the team I had the honor of being captain for. Through this experience, I motivated people in an activity that can be mundane and exhausting by leading through example and setting a supportive atmosphere. Additionally, I learned how to transform a group of individual runners into a competitive team. I have applied the knowledge I gained through this experience to effectively lead in other influential positions that I have held over the years.
